Dollhouse
I just finished watching the 1st episode of the 2nd season of Dollhouse. I was incredibly confused at first, but as the episode went on, I began to understand what was happening. The plot was complex because they were switching in and out of real life like in the Matrix. At the end of the episode, Echo said she wanted to find out what is real. It got me thinking about how everybody is always searching and trying to figure out the truth. Nobody likes living and having to worry about what is true and what is not. I'm interested in finding out how the next few episodes go.
High School Is Hell
I found this article hard to read. I don't know if it was because I have never scene an episode of Buffy or if it was because I don't like metaphors. I thought it was a bit ridiculous when in Season 2 it was saying how everybody was actually different from what they appeared. It said, "Buffy's mother's new boyfriend, Ted, turns out to be a robot with a tendency to kill his wives." It might be because I am not a fan of metaphors, but I thought that was a big stretch. I also found it very ironic how the episode that involved a school shooting was scheduled to be viewed during the time a school shooting did occur.
Blog 1
When it comes to reading, I enjoy articles about sports. I like getting on the Internet and reading about the previous days games. I occasionally will read the sports section of the newspaper. I am not a big fan of reading books. J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series and Bernard Malamud’s The Assistant and The Natural are books that I actually like. Other than those few books, I do not read in my spare time. Books have to be very suspenseful and have a lot of action to keep in my interest. When books keep me guessing, I find myself not wanting to put them down. Sadly, the books we normally read in school were dull and tenuous. I could never motivate myself to read them. When it comes to writing, I have never written for a public audience. The closest I have gotten to a public piece is last year when my English teacher saved one of my papers to show as an example for next year’s class. I have never written on a blog or created a blog, but I do look at websites where people blog. There is a sports website, yappi, where people talk about high school teams and individual players from around Cincinnati. I enjoy reading other people’s ideas, but I never give my own. I am not looking forward to writing for a public audience because I am self-conscience about my writing. I am not confident when it comes to writing so I am always hesitant to share my papers. Regardless of not liking to share my stories, I am excited to give it a chance.

Pilot of Firefly: "Serenity"
I just finished the episode and I thought that it was pretty good. It kept my interest which suprised me because after the first few minutes I was a little skeptical. I was happy with the way the episode ended. I definately did not want to see a sad ending to start off the quarter. Overall, I started watching the episode expecting not to like it, but by the end of the movie, I was glad I watched it.

About me
My name is Mack Hoban. I am a freshmen from Cincinnati, Ohio. I went to St. Xavier High School. It is a big high school with 1500 guys. It is nice to be back in school with girls in the classroom. I wrestled my freshmen year and played soccer all four years. I am a huge sports fan and I love playing any pick-up game. I don't have a major, so I am Exploring, which is a more mild way to say I am Undecided. I am a soccer referee and I also worked at a pool this summer.
