Anything Blog: My Sister
My relationship with my sister has been quite the roller coaster ride over the years. In grade school, my sister and I never got along. We would argue and compete with each other in everything we did. Let me add that my sister is only a year younger than me. When high school hit, we still argued and got mad at each other but our relationship got better. By my Senior year, something clicked between us and we realized how lucky we were to have each other. For me, she has some awesome girl friends that I can hang with and vice versa. As it turns out, she is dating one of my good friends from high school. I have to take credit for introducing them because I did. She hung out with me almost every weekend Senior year and it was so cool. Our friendship grew tremendouslty. People would ask me if I ever got mad about her coming with me to parties and what not, but I always said, "no, I love it!" On occasion, she would drive me in her car so I didnt waste the gas. When it came time for me to leave for college, it was a very strange goodbye. We recalled back in grade school when she said I cant wait for you to leave for college, but when the time actually came, neither one of us wanted me to leave. I still talk to her all the time and I cannot wait to see her this upcoming weekend

Thats so sweet! I had a realationship like that with my brother who was a senior in high school when I was a freshman. I think we realized this about that time and started to get along a lot better. He always has the greatest advice when it comes to college and what to do and what not to do. I got to see him this weekend and it was really nice because he went off to college at Morehead and I don't get to see him that much anymore.
ReplyDeleteThat's really cool that you have a relationship like that with your sibling! I have a brother whose 5 years older than me an a sister whose 10 years older than me (and who lives in a different country,) so having a good relationship with someone that close to you in age is definitely a positive thing.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is really a heart felt blog. I am happy for you that you two can relate so well when you guys are so close in age yet so different in life styles. I was happy myself this weekend when my older sister came to visit me. We never fought much because of the four year age difference but we started too once I hit 7th grade and we would have conflicting issues. We have a strong relationship now and I realized how much she helped me when I was in high school and she was away at college even though she didn't have to. Aren't families just great?
ReplyDeleteI wish I could've had a sister! I have one brother and he lives in florida now with his wive and daughter. So he's not really close enough to see to often. I cry everytime I see him because I miss him so bad! But we have never gotten along better until he decided to move....
ReplyDeleteI do have a sister, but she is almost sixteen years younger than I am. Therefore, I have not had this experience with her yet. I do have a brother. Of course, we have our ups and downs. I feel lucky to get along with him throughout my life because he is somehow always there when I have an issue. It is nice to have a sibling there for you! Your sister sounds like a great sibling to have.
ReplyDeleteThat's so adorable. I can relate, because I have two older brothers I completely adore. You should know that once they left for college, we only got closer :)
ReplyDeleteI hear ya man. When my sister left for college when I was a junior in high school I though my world was crumbling, we are very close. She is all the way out at UCLA and I think we still get closer every year.
