WB5

Dear English 110.01 Student,

Get ready to experience a quarter of science fiction and more science fiction. I know it sounds like an awful class topic and it will be awful if you don't give it a chance. Especially when it comes to blogging! I am the last person to ever blog, but this class forces you to. I found out that it is not the end of the world and it is a good way to communicate with your classmates.
While I would much rather be watching ESPN or something, by giving sci-fi a chance, I learned a lot. I got a taste of numerous sci-fi shows and I found out that some shows are pretty good and relate to my life now.
In regards to this class, I recommend that you do not procrastinate! At the beginning of the class, you are required to watch episodes of shows and blog about them. Make sure you pay attention to the episodes because you are responsible to write an 8 page Analytical Research Paper on an episode. Also, do every piece of homework to the fullest because everything builds on each other. If you only give half effort on an assignment, you will eventually have to finish the other half of it. The only difference is you won't get a better grade once you finish it.
When you watch episodes of shows, I would jot down some notes of the episode. I found that to be very helpful for me because when I went back to write my Analytical Paper, I could instantly go to the section of the episode I wanted and get the information I needed.
All in all, this class will be fun as long as you put the work in. If you slack off, I wish you the best of luck.

Sincerely,
Mack Hoban

Farscape

I was not a fan of Farscape. The idea of the black hole was definitely different from most ideas, and I liked the concept; however, I did not like creatures in the show. I thought they were very weird and a bit annoying. It did get me thinking about how weird and scary it would be if that ever happened to me. John handling the situation a lot better than I would have.
This episode relates to none only than Dollhouse. John reminds me of Echo who has to find out everything for herself. They were both on their own and did not have many people that could look out for them. John had his dad and others back on earth and Echo has Ballard who was on "earth" meaning he was not an active. Also, this episode relates to Star Trek in the way that it took place on a different planet. The creatures had a crew just like the crew in Star Trek.

STNG

I found this episode to be similar to that of the Dollhouse. Data is very much like the actives in the sense that they are all basically robots. The actives act like robots and Data is a robot. STNG called to attention the importance of life. Dollhouse did not value human life by changing a human into a zombie-like being.

In my opinion, I thought the episode of Star Trek I watched was better than STNG. I liked how the original star trek used an episode of history and incorporated it into the episode. I would not know much about the Clantons and Earps if it wasn't for the episode I watched. With that said, I did not feel like I learned anything from STNG which was a turn off. I did notice that the plots seem to be pretty relevant and timely even though they were made so long ago. I have to give kudos to the writers for that.

Star Trek: Season 3 Episode 6 "Spectre of the Gun"

I watched Season 3 Episode 6 of Star Trek. It is called "Spectre of the Gun." I was not looking forward to watching this episode and I came to realize that it was not half bad. The episode revolved around the fact that the Enterprise trespassed into some uncharted territory. Captain Kirk and the crew (Spock, McCoy, Scotty and Chekov) were transported to a place that resembled that of Tombstone, Arizona. It was October 26th, 1881 and the crew, or the Clantons as they were in the show, were forced to fight the Earps. In real life, the Clantons are killed and the Earps win. However, in this episode, Billy "dies" because believes he was actually shot. Spock realizes that if they truly believe that the bullets are fake then they won't die. Turns out that Spock is correct. The Earps unload bullets on them, but the guys don't budge. Kirk fights one of the Earps and after proving to him that he could kill him he lets the guy go. The episode ends with Kirk and the crew telling the leader of this uncharted territory that they try not to kill when it is not needed.

While watching the episode, I was thinking of ways it related to Dollhouse. I noticed that the crew was placed into this situation (being in "Tombstone, Arizona) just like the actives in Dollhouse are placed into situations where they have to do a task. Also,I instantly noticed that Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, and Chekov's names were changed to Frank McLaury, Tom McLaury, Billy Claiborne, Ike Clanton, and Billy Clanton in the episode. It reminded me of how the actives in Dollhouse do not use the names they have in real life. Finally, Spock reminded me a lot of Topher because he was the brains of the group. Topher is the genius behind programming the actives and Spock is the one that figured out that if they believe the bullets are fake then they will not die. I did not think I would find as many correlations between Dollhouse and Star Trek, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Battlestar Galactica

When I heard we were watching Battlestar Galactica, I was expecting a show that was very dull. I mean my dad has watched it before, so I assumed it would be real old-fashioned and lame. However, I now have a different view of the show. While I won’t say it is a show I will watch in my free time, I will say that I can understand why people watch it.
I liked the idea of a futuristic world vs. the Cylons because that is interesting. However, I was very confused in why there were so many sex scenes. I feel like these scenes did not add to the plot of the episode, so I do not understand why Ronald D. Moore, writer and producer of Battlestar Galactic, included them in the miniseries. Number Six, or Caprica Six, is a prime example of a woman who uses her attributes to her advantage (even though she uses it for evil). She seduced Dr. Gaius Baltar, who was very powerful. She deceived him by helping him with his work on the Colonial defense system. Although she used Baltar to help the Cylons, she did sacrifice her life in order to save Baltar’s. I feel like this really proves that she did care for Baltar, but she had to use him to provide an opportunity for the Cylon’s to attack. I feel like Number Six is very similar to the woman in “Firefly” because she used her abilities to seduce the Captain, which eventually led to her getting what she wanted/needed.

Poem

Sick
by Shel Silverstein

"I cannot go to school today,"
Said little Peggy Ann McKay,
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash, and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more--that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut, my eyes are blue--
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke--
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb,
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is--what?
What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is---Saturday?
G'bye, I'm going out to play!"

I have never read this poem before, but I enjoyed reading it. It reminded me of the days when I told my mom that I did not feel well and then came up with a bunch of excuses for why I shouldn't go to school. They never seemed to work, but I always tried. When it comes to poetry, I like poems that aren't real lengthy. The one's that are real long and have hidden meanings usually lose my interest, but the one's that are quick and to the point I enjoy. I also like poems that are fun meaning are written in a way where they make a shape or something to that effect.

Buffy the Vampire

I really was confused during this episode. I couldn't figure out what was real and was not. I think since I am not familiar with Buffy that I had a harder time understanding the episode. It was strange when the doctor and her parents were telling her to say that she did not have a sister. I did not like that scene because the concept of rejecting your family is dumb.

Favorite Movie

One of my all-time favorite movies is Remember the Titans. I have seen the movie so many times, but it never gets old. I think I like the movie so much because it is based on a true story involving sports. I find myself liking movies that are sports based and are real stories. The movie really portrays what society was like when blacks and whites were just beginning to unite. There is a scene when Sunshine (a white guy from California) takes Petey and a few other black guys into a restaurant. Even though the black guys said we should not go in there, Sunshine convinced them to go in. The owner of the store comes up and tells the boys that they are full (even though there were a ton of tables available). This scene made me realize just how awful people were treated back then. One of my favorite scenes is when Gary is in the hospital and Julius comes to visit him. The nurse says something to the effect of: "Sorry, visiting hours are only for relatives." Gary, the great guy that he is says, "Alice are you blind. He's my brother." That line always brings a smile to my face because it shows how far the team has come in accepting one another. This movie is and always will be one of my favorites!

Commonplace Problems

In my paper, I am worried that I do not explain enough about my show. I tried not make my paper more interesting by cutting out all the details of the show. The only time I mention specifics about the show is when I talk about the actives getting "treatments." I quickly explained what an active was and what a treatment is, but i am not sure if it makes sense to someone who has never seen the show.

"In Dollhouse, the actives (programmable humans who can receive different personalities in order to do whatever a client wishes) receive treatments. These treatments erase the memory of the zombie-like beings so they can have different personalities inserted into them."

If you could let me know if I need to be more specific or not I would greatly appreciate that.

Possible Commonplace Paper

I am going to continue writing on the idea that torture happens all around us and people either are too oblivious to see it or just simply disregard it. I am definately going to cut out most of the background to the plot because that took up a lot of space. In my Analytical Paper, I mentioned how word choice is important in how people see a situation. I am going to go more in depth about that because in Dollhouse they use the word "treatment" in replace of torture, which distracts the viewer from what is really happening. Although the words could be used in exchange for one another, people react differently to hearing "treatment" compared to "torture." I will prove my point by giving examples of the actives constantly getting "treatments" and even though the actives are put through these situations regularly, nobody realizes how wrong it is.

More Paper Problems

I have been having a hard time focusing my paper. I realized that I have not been using my thesis statement as a guide to write my paper. I actually never included my thesis into my paper, which I think has been giving me a lot of problems. Also, I did not describe what an active is early enough in my paper, which caused my paper to be confusing. I moved this statement from the end of the first page to the first paragraph: "An active is a programmable human who can receive different personalities in order to do whatever a client wishes." I think this will help people know what I am talking about, but I need to explain more of the background of Dollhouse so people can follow what I say

Quote from Paper

This is a section from the beginning of my paper in which I use quotes from an episode to help explain what is going on in the episodes.

"Topher has figured out a way to program different characteristics into each “active.” He inserts attributes into them before they go out on their task. In “Instinct”, episode two of the second season, Topher and Ballard are talking about how programming occurs. Topher says, “One could program the brain to fight cancer, or be telekinetic, or not to have that gag reflex when you eat sea urchin, or whatever. The possibilities are pretty much endless.” In order to receive these characteristics, the “active” sits in this special chair and, after Topher enters some special formulas, has the ability to do whatever is asked of him or her.
Paul Ballard responds to Topher’s comment by saying, “So you can do all that to me by me sitting in this chair?”
Topher replies, “Well not to you, to an active. I can’t fiddle with the mind until it’s wiped clean.”
Erasing the mind to the point where it is “wiped clean” cannot be rationalized. Nobody should have their identity taken from them because that defines a person. The “actives” are treated like they are robots who can be configured in many different ways. "

I used the last paragraph to try and explain why I used this quote.

Paper Problems

In my paper, I am having difficulty describing my focus. I know I want to portray the message that torture occurs in Dollhouse and that it constantly happening in the real world as well. However, the quotes I use and the other points I make don't clearly get my message across. I think that this is due to a lack of a thesis. The one I wrote down yesterday was: "Torture occurs not only in Dollhouse, but in every day life as well. Acknowledging the fact that torture happens everywhere is the first step in stopping its occurence. People overlook torture because they--people young and old--don't understand what torture is. The people who work in the Dollhouse disregard the fact that by creating "actives," they are disrespecting and torturing the humans who were transformed. In the real world, torture does not have to be just physically hurting someone, it can be as simple as just verbally putting someone down. In Joss Whedon's Science Fiction television show, Dollhouse, he brings to light that torture is happening all around us and just because it is not called "torture" does not mean it is not." I know that the common reader isn't going to understand what I am saying when I talk about the "actives" and how they are transformed, but I don't know how to incorporate that without making the paragraph not flow as well as becoming boring and tedious. Any ideas?

WB 3: Playoffs in College Football

I decided to look up an article that supports playoffs in college football and then an article that does not support playoffs. The two writers were very similar in the way they wrote. In the argument supporting the playoffs, the writer utillized a specific example that most college football fan would remember. It was a very specific and useful example and was very effective. The argument against college playoffs was not very effective. Although the writer brought up a really good point, I found myself getting overwhelmed with all the different people he quoted. I started getting bored with everybody else's thoughts and wanted to know his. When he referred to NCAA Basketball, he supported it quickly, which was good. At times he took too long to get his point across. When I compared both articles together, I noticed that there was one thing that stood out to me. Both articles were presented very similarly with a white background and the usual Times New Roman font. They were both about the same length; however, the arguement for college playoffs was broken up into two pages. Not all of his article was on the page, I had to click "next page" to get to it. I found that I really liked this because I dont like looking at a page and seeing a ton of writing. By breaking it up, I found myself being able to read the article better.

Follow Me: Uncle Kracker

I chose this song because I used to love it. It was the first song I knew every word to and I thought Uncle Kracker was the man. As I got a little older, I always would tell people my favorite song was Follow Me by Uncle Kracker. Whoever I would tell would always smirk and tell me how much that song sucks. The past few years if there is an ipod playing at a party I go and choose the next song to be Follow Me because I love seeing the reaction it gets. In regards to the lyrics, I had no idea what the lyrics meant until a few years ago because I never paid attention to what the song meant, I just had it memorized. It has a pretty awful message about hooking up with a woman who is married. A stanza goes: "And I worry 'bout the ring you wear Cause as long as no one knows That nobody can care Your fellin guilty And I'm well aware But you don't look ashamed And baby I'm not scared." Although the lyrics aren't the best, it has a catchy beat which is why I have always liked this song. Uncle Kracker was at Osu last week or the week before, but I cannot say I paid to go watch him.

Fear: The Princess Screamed Once

The part of this article by Rhonda Wilcox that jumped out at me was when she was talking about the communication or should I say the lack of communication that went on in the episode. Buffy and Riley had a miscommunication about which box Riley should hit in order for everybody to regain their voices. It seems understandable to have a hard time conversing when you do not have a voice, but Wilcox makes a good point: "The Gentlemen seem to understand each other very well." In Willow's group meeting, she was put down by the head of the group. Although WIllow could have had a good idea, the leader degraded her before even digesting what she said. To me, that is a sign of a bad leader. Somebody that doesn't listen to everybody's opinion has no right to be leading a group. Wilcox makes a good point when she says, "Neither the Wiccans nor the Gentlemen communicate with those of a different perspective. " While "The Gentlemen" didn't communicate with others because they were freaks and wanted to kill people. the Wiccans were just self-interested jerks who thought that they were way better than everyone else.

Moeller - Is it Art

The author, Gary Moeller, definately watched this episode of Buffy many times. I definately did not see the statue of St. Francis and notice the little girl talking at the end of the hallway. The author definately watched and rewatched this episode many times to find all of these minute details. I liked how the author was able to relate so many of the characters and plots to pieces of the past. When I saw the hunched over people, I thought that they were really weird and creepy, but I never compared them to the monkey's in The Wizard of Oz. Moeller says, "Those monkeys were so inredibly creepy; some aspects of the creepiness relate directly to the Gentemen's minions." After Moeller points this observation out, I see the coorelation between the Gentlesmen's minions and the monkey's from Wizard of Oz.

Bridges - Grimm Realities

The author makes a good point in regards to Buffy's vulnerability. Everybody is vulnerable at some point, even a vampire. We see that Buffy, who is only seventeen years old, acts old, but she knows that she is still just a teenager. She tells a boy in the hospital, "I'm not that grown up." She connects with a little boy which would have not have been possible if she did not accept the true Buffy. Also, I would never have thought about linking the "Hush" episode to a bunch of fairy tales. I know that it was hinted at in the episode, but the level of detail the author, Elizabeth Bridges, went into was intense. Joss Whedon, as the author implicityly found, loves coorelating his episodes in Buffy to fairy tales. I enjoyed reading the thought process of the writer through this article

Buffy the Vampire: "Hush"

While watching this episode, I couldn't help but find myself not being able to talk. My throats been sore lately and I just found myself thinking that I couldn't speak. Also, the music that was played during the time nobody was speaking was quite effective. There was suspenseful music when there needed to be and there was a little more laid back music for the few not so suspenseful scenes. I also made a similarity between Dollhouse and Buffy because there was a slight hint towards torture. Joss Whedon is the producer of both shows and I have a feeling that he implicity likes getting his audience to think about torture. The Gentlemen used knifes to cut the hearts out, which is a way of torturing someone. This was an intense episode and it was pretty good.

Free Writing 2

After somebody has been tortured, they never get back into living their normal lifestyle. As Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture say, "Psychological symtoms of torture frequently include anxiety, depression, irrirability, paranoia, guilt, suspiciousness, sexual dysfunction, loss of concentration, confusion, insomnia, nightmares, impaired memory, and memory loss." Always watching your back and thinking somebody is out there to get you is something nobody should have to worry about. However, people who have been tortured have these thoughts running through their heads all of the time. After somebody is tortured, most go see a healthcare professional. "Treatment for both physical and psychological after-effects requires a great deal of sensitivity on the part of the professional dealing with the patient," Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture say.

Free Writing 1

Torture is portrayed is Dollhouse throughout all of the episodes I have watched. Dollhouse exemplifies mental, emotional, and physical torture. The man who hires the people of the dollhouse to set him up with an "active" that'll cure his fantasy, quickly regrets his decision. By getting tied to a chair and tortued, the man realized he made a mistake. This man who was getting tortued got a taste of his own medicine, just in a physical way instead of mental and emotional. No matter what type of torture it is, any non-terrorist person does not deserve it.

Anything Blog: My Sister

My relationship with my sister has been quite the roller coaster ride over the years. In grade school, my sister and I never got along. We would argue and compete with each other in everything we did. Let me add that my sister is only a year younger than me. When high school hit, we still argued and got mad at each other but our relationship got better. By my Senior year, something clicked between us and we realized how lucky we were to have each other. For me, she has some awesome girl friends that I can hang with and vice versa. As it turns out, she is dating one of my good friends from high school. I have to take credit for introducing them because I did. She hung out with me almost every weekend Senior year and it was so cool. Our friendship grew tremendouslty. People would ask me if I ever got mad about her coming with me to parties and what not, but I always said, "no, I love it!" On occasion, she would drive me in her car so I didnt waste the gas. When it came time for me to leave for college, it was a very strange goodbye. We recalled back in grade school when she said I cant wait for you to leave for college, but when the time actually came, neither one of us wanted me to leave. I still talk to her all the time and I cannot wait to see her this upcoming weekend

Blog 2

I went to Fresh Express at North Commons because I tend to always eat there. The locatino makes it about a 30 second walk from my dorm so it is incredibly convenient. I love the fact that I can get so much food for just a single swipe. I have to make sure that I get some healthy sides and entrees because I do not want that Freshmen 15. So the eating area of Fresh is set up like this: tables scattered all around the room. Most tables seat four people and then people combine the tables for a bigger group. There are a few circular tables, but not many. There is an area in the corner where there are a few couches and a television. This morning SportsCenter was on and a few guys were sitting around watching it. Although I go to Fresh a lot, I do not go for breakfast. Today, I was feeling a bit rebellious and passed on my nap between classes to go and get breakfast. The environment was quite different at 10:00 compared to when I normally go for lunch and dinner. The basement, which is where you eat, was very quiet. The lights were dimmed and Taylor Swift's "Teardrops on My Guitar" was playing overhead. As I looked around the room, I noticed a lot of people listening to their ipods and studying or sitting with a friend talking very quietly. For the first time, I also noticed advertisements that are on almost all of the tables. I guess I am not very observant because I had not noticed these before today. Sadly, I do not have a camera so I went to Fresh Express's website and tried to find a picture. Since that failed, I just copied there menu for the day. If you haven't tried Fresh because you live on south or for any other reason, I HIGHLY recommend walking or catching a bus and trying it. You won't be disappointed!

Primary Source 2

I just watched episode 12 of season 1 of Dollhouse. It was a little weird because I have already watched 2 episodes from season 2 so I backtracked. I was confused during parts of the episode, but for the most part, I got the basic gist. There was a legit torture scene in which they used pain to get information. I know there are tons of different ways to torture people so I was thinking I can find out how torture effects people later in life if they are fortunate enough to survive. Also, there was a scene when a doctor told a patient that he was ugly and disgusting. She told him that he already passed his prime. The only reason she said this is because he got cuts on his face and to her that meant he was worthless. People should not be judged based on their appearance. You would have to be a very shallow person to think that. I've learned never judge a person by their appearance, I guess this doctor paid missed that.

Primary Source 1

I just watched the second episode of season two for Dollhouse. I found there to be a few different topics that popped out to me for what I can write about. First, Topher, who is this genius, talks about how he can program brain's to do anything. He goes as far as to say that he can program someone's brain to fight cancer. This got be thinking about how technology is quickly upgrading and got me questioning if something that sounds so insane now, will end up being created in the future. Also, "actives", or people who have had there brain "messed with", are put through immense pain and agony during situations. Topher justifies it by saying that afterwards he makes it so that the person doesn't remember or feel anything. To me, that is still not right. Echo was put into a situation where she was the mother of a child. She believed with her entire heart that she was the mother. When people came to get the baby from her, she did what any mother would do and freaked out. Although afterwards she will forget everything, the torture she went through is not worth it. I could talk about how other countries torture people and all the ways they try to justify it. I have a lot to think about and any imput would be helpful

Firefly 2

The plot in Firefly has many different twists and turns. The biggest shocker for me was when Saffron took control of the ship and hurt Mal and Wash. She had me fooled. By asking questions and crying, I found myself empathizing with her. It just goes to show how powerful girls can be. Early on in the episode, Wash's wife says she doesnt like Saffron, but Wash did not seem to listen to her. Honestly, I didnt listen to her either. It shows that Saffron can be deceiptful towards guys, but girls aren't as easily fooled. Inara realized she was full of it and so did Wash's wife.

But She Was Naked

Inara and Saffron's confrontation was well directed. I didnt catch the pun when Inara said, "I guess we have lied enough." After realizing that is what she said, I liked the scene even more. Saffron is not just a companion, she is one of the best companions. Being able to make every guy she deals with feel special is a quality that not many people, let alone companions have. Women are so powerful when it comes to dealing with men. When girls make the guys feel like they are in control, girls can get whatever they want. There are many ways that women can gain control and Saffron exemplified two ways with Mal and Wash. By simply asking questions and saying subtle comments, she won over both men very quickly.

Dollhouse

I just finished watching the 1st episode of the 2nd season of Dollhouse. I was incredibly confused at first, but as the episode went on, I began to understand what was happening. The plot was complex because they were switching in and out of real life like in the Matrix. At the end of the episode, Echo said she wanted to find out what is real. It got me thinking about how everybody is always searching and trying to figure out the truth. Nobody likes living and having to worry about what is true and what is not. I'm interested in finding out how the next few episodes go.

High School Is Hell

I found this article hard to read. I don't know if it was because I have never scene an episode of Buffy or if it was because I don't like metaphors. I thought it was a bit ridiculous when in Season 2 it was saying how everybody was actually different from what they appeared. It said, "Buffy's mother's new boyfriend, Ted, turns out to be a robot with a tendency to kill his wives." It might be because I am not a fan of metaphors, but I thought that was a big stretch. I also found it very ironic how the episode that involved a school shooting was scheduled to be viewed during the time a school shooting did occur.

Blog 1

When it comes to reading, I enjoy articles about sports. I like getting on the Internet and reading about the previous days games. I occasionally will read the sports section of the newspaper. I am not a big fan of reading books. J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series and Bernard Malamud’s The Assistant and The Natural are books that I actually like. Other than those few books, I do not read in my spare time. Books have to be very suspenseful and have a lot of action to keep in my interest. When books keep me guessing, I find myself not wanting to put them down. Sadly, the books we normally read in school were dull and tenuous. I could never motivate myself to read them. When it comes to writing, I have never written for a public audience. The closest I have gotten to a public piece is last year when my English teacher saved one of my papers to show as an example for next year’s class. I have never written on a blog or created a blog, but I do look at websites where people blog. There is a sports website, yappi, where people talk about high school teams and individual players from around Cincinnati. I enjoy reading other people’s ideas, but I never give my own. I am not looking forward to writing for a public audience because I am self-conscience about my writing. I am not confident when it comes to writing so I am always hesitant to share my papers. Regardless of not liking to share my stories, I am excited to give it a chance.

Pilot of Firefly: "Serenity"

I just finished the episode and I thought that it was pretty good. It kept my interest which suprised me because after the first few minutes I was a little skeptical. I was happy with the way the episode ended. I definately did not want to see a sad ending to start off the quarter. Overall, I started watching the episode expecting not to like it, but by the end of the movie, I was glad I watched it.

About me

My name is Mack Hoban. I am a freshmen from Cincinnati, Ohio. I went to St. Xavier High School. It is a big high school with 1500 guys. It is nice to be back in school with girls in the classroom. I wrestled my freshmen year and played soccer all four years. I am a huge sports fan and I love playing any pick-up game. I don't have a major, so I am Exploring, which is a more mild way to say I am Undecided. I am a soccer referee and I also worked at a pool this summer.
